During her childhood, she had troubled relations with her father and barely talked to him at all. Her mother’s ten-year struggle with a life-threatening disease deeply impacted her character.

However, things began to change. While waiting for a train in 1990, her mind was flooded with ideas of a boy who attended Wizardry school. As soon as she arrived at her flat she started writing about it. But after her mother’s passing, she immediately stopped writing. She had started writing 6 months before her mother died. The fact that her mother passed away without knowing of her writing was painful for her.

To get a fresh start and forget the unbearable pain, she moved to Portugal and got married in 1992. But who knew that she’d end up with a failed marriage and a baby that she had to raise alone. She didn’t stop there, though.

When she returned home with nothing, she lived in a cramped apartment with her daughter, was jobless and penniless, and she admits that she even seriously considered suicide. She found peace in doing what she loved, which was writing.

At first, no publisher was ready to publish her book and 12 publishers rejected the first book of Harry Potter. Finally, Bloomsbury accepted and after the publishing of Harry Potter, she went from being a jobless mother to the richest author of all time. Today, J.K. Rowling is known as the most influential woman in Britain.b
